MediaPiston is a part of the wider oDesk work platform, so in general you should familiarize with and abide by the oDesk Job Posting Guidelines. Please note that since MediaPiston is a work on demand system focused on written content, certain guidelines may differ.
All jobs posted to MediaPiston must conform to this job posting policy and are subject to review by MediaPiston. If a posting is deemed to be inappropriate for any reason, it may be edited or removed immediately and may result in the suspension or even termination of the posting user's account and/or company.
Violations include but are not limited to:
- Disclosing direct contact information (email address, phone number or chat ID) in your job posting or attachments.
- Requesting applicants submit their direct contact information (email address, phone number or chat ID) in their submission or other communications.
- Requesting fees from contractors for applying, bidding, or winning a contract.
- Asking to perform work tasks outside of the MediaPiston writing system, including but not limited to posting reviews, Tweets or publishing the work they create for you online.
- Asking workers to access password-protected sites in order to access data necessary to complete assignments.
- Using the job posting system as a vehicle for advertising other businesses or products.
- Including offensive language or content.
- Posting work related to school projects.
- Requesting a clone or "spin" of copyrighted material (unless you own the copyright)
- Intending any illegal activity or violation of other websites' Terms of Service (Craigslist, Yahoo, Backpage, etc.).
- Involving the use of spyware, spam-bots, viruses or any other products with malicious intent.
- Offering payment using any method outside our included payment and bonusing mechanisms. Note: it is fine to offer bonuses as long as they are fulfilled using the give bonus feature on MediaPiston.
- Accepting any solicitation to pay for work using any method (Western Union, PayPal, etc.) outside the included billing and payment system.
- In addition, job postings which are clearly discriminatory in nature are not permitted and will be removed.
- If applicable, include the phrase, "(Adult Content)" in the job title to notify contractors of the nature of the work.
